this might not be it but recall. 1- ignition on (not engine) 2- keep the mile reset on left corner of cluster pressed until asked to enter the number (vin total number) 3- then click until you get to the oil service. 4- press and keeping pressing the left button again until reset. better check on google thats what i did for oil, brakes etc
2004 525i. My I-drive display and radio have stopped working. The obvious culprit checked out OK. I replaced the fuses that sounded at all related and visually inspected literally every fuse in both the trunk and glove box fuse blocks. I'm afraid I might have to tear into the dash and center console to look for any loose wires, but that seems
To activate, after shutting off the car, pull back on the high-beam lever to activate -- the time they stay on is adjustable via iDrive. For the Welcome Lights to activate, headlight switch must be left in the "on", or "auto" position upon shutdown, plus selected via iDrive. BMW-CCA. Bimmerfest Supporting Member.

I accessed the iDrive hidden menu (push and hold iDrive controller forward for 15 sec, 3 clicks right, 3 left, 1 right, 1 left, 1 right then press down), then into Settings and at the bottom the Service menu had appeared. This then enabled me to access the Navigation service menu within it. Pictures below. Service menu:

The short version, catastrophic coffee lid failure led to the iDrive controller getting a good coffee soaking. I tried electronic contact cleaner after taking the controller apart but the thing was too far gone. The controller and menu buttons would work, moving the controller up/down/left/right was still functional.

I can still turn on radio, CD, Satellite, Aux, and the screen works (shows channel or CD track#), but no sound comes out of it. It seems like something muted it.

If you just have a 2 or 4GB stick floating around, just delete the contents and place the file on it. Plug the drive into one of the 2 USB ports, probably the one in the glove compartment, but it may differ on your model. You will get prompted on the iDrive display to continue with the update. Then it will reboot.
I cannot reset the system in my idrive. In the place where FTM should be located, my menu shows TPM instead. I understand, and have verified that I do not have the TPMS system, but rather the older FTM system. However, my idrive shows TPM which is greyed out, and will not let me select any reset options.
This isn’t the latest iDrive System, this is a NBTevo iDrive 5/6 unit, the latest version now is iDrive 8. In the video you retrofit a Europe NBTevo iDrive 5/6 radio into a USA/Canada vehicle, you won’t be able to use Sirius XM or onboard BMW Navigation doing this. Your radio doesn’t have Sirius XM or GPS ports on the back of the radio.
I***8217;m afraid that this temporary loss of BMW Online Weather, is a known issue. Our technical department are aware of this and are currently working on a ***8220;fix***8221;. I***8217;ve included your car in the investigation and when a solution is presented, this will be issues to your car remotely.
There are different versions of the Idrive/Nav. (Do you have idrive?) Also Euro versions can be different than versions in the Rest of the World. In a lot of systems the USB and Aux come from the Mulf 2 Hi or Combox module in the Trunk area. These signals are also routed through the Most Hub in some earlier builds with the Idrive. BMW E60 E61 hidden menu – procedure. Turn the ignition on. Press and hold trip reset button. Instrument cluster will show warning sign, next oil sign. Release the button when FGSTNR appears on the display. After few seconds a 7-digit number will appear. Last 5 digits are also the end of your cars VIN. Add up last 5 digits together (1+2+3+4+5=15). Idrive not working, radio works though. Parking sensors not working, but think this due to idrive and dash not lighting up. Windows and sun roof doesn't central locking don't work, can only open driver side door with key. The car had gone to a BMW specialist as it was going through insurance claim if too much money to fix.

E60 530d 2004 - iDrive constantly rebooting. Hi there - my iDrive was working normally, I didn't use the car for a week and when I started it again the iDrive constantly reboots and does not come on at all. I get the BMW logo, this stays there for a short while, screen goes off and logo reappears - the whole cycle keeps repeating itself.
Step 2 - make sure you have a NCSExpert Profile that doesn't have the "FSW-/PSW-Manipulate with FSW_PSW.MAN" option enabled. Step 3 - you then follow the same steps as if you were coding the ECU from a .MAN file, but NCSExpert will code the ECU with the default settings based on your VO. To clarify the steps would be.
