I have an opel astra 2001 classic. The car was running 100%. I then took the battery off to help a friend with his car, there was little sparks as I took the positive off. Everything worked when I fitted the battery except the headlights and the car wont start.
Car is an Astra H 1.7 CDTI 2004. With the ignition on, all dash lights are on but no crank. Brand new battery fully charged, starter motor and solenoid works fine when connected direct to battery. Using multi-meter across the starter relay switch terminals i get the following readings: key out of ignition : 0 V Ignition on ( with dash lights

My Astra H 1.8 Petrol 2008 suddenly wouldn't start this morning however the engine turned over without a problem. Like it was out of fuel or if there were no spark. When I turn on the key to the point just before ignition, I first hear the normal sound of the fuel pump (I think it is - it goes on for about a few seconds and stops).
Question: My 1996 Opel Astra cranks as normal but just will not start, I have checked the fuel going to the injectors; even checked the plugs. All good. What can be the problem? This was from a 1.9 deisel. The readings should be the same. The red line is the crank sensor, the yellow is cam sensor and the blue is battery voltage. Here is another one from a different engine that took a bit longer to start. It was a deisel engine starting in -6 degrees temperature first thing of a morning.

at least now the a pillar should have something! if not, its definately that anti theft module. (brown/black wire terminals 1 to 6 on the motors) would need to check the bonnet and boot switches too. window lifters are red/white from the door locks. depending on the lights etc. it could be the combo control module/relay.

thanks for the fast reply .. that's correct it will start up on Easy start but I hesitate in using that stuff not to sure of it. so im going to attempt the SCV. its a brand new engine so cant be compression issues as this runs and drives perfectly fine once its able to i.e by easy start or intermittently say every 24 hour attempt.
